Summer's over, and the kids are heading back to school!
Run back-to-school safety messages for kids, parents, and neighbors, reminding them to stop and think and be extra careful, to cut down on accidents.Offer sponsorships to insurance agencies; doctors, dentists, health/medical services; city/county health departments; retail stores holding back-to-school sales; law firms and other NTR accounts; bike and sports shops; children's clothing and toy stores; pizza shops, ice cream parlors, and family restaurants.
Team up with local businesses and your listeners to fill backpacks with school supplies for needy children in your community.
Produce "get to know your teachers" spots: interview teachers from area schools and have them give some background information about themselves and share what they're looking forward to in the new school year.

Another great back-to-school idea from Brian Winnekins of Durand, WI:
"Here is a different take on the back to school...with all the budget cuts, some teachers are struggling to have enough supplies in there classroom...so station teams up with listeners or businesses or both to 'adopt a teacher' or 'adopt a school' to donate classroom supplies..."
