This week's poll question may be a minor point, but it's a question that's been on my mind since the beginning of the year, and that is:
How do you pronounce 2010? "Twenty-ten" or "Two thousand ten"?
How are your newscasters and DJ's pronouncing it?
Hoping to reach some sort of a consensus here. . . .
Twenty-ten...12 years ago we we all saying nineteen ninety eight...correct? We were not saying One thousand nine hundred and ninety eight! Problem is...we just came from the decade of 00-09 to say Twenty 0'nine or Twenty 0'five sounded like the year was of Irish ancestry. It makes perfect sense to me and our team to say "Twenty-ten"
I prefer "Twenty-ten." I just think it flows better.
But the one thing that I was desperately hoping for was that people would drop the "and" now that we are into 2010, but I've already heard people saying, "Two Thousand AND Ten."
