I'm wondering if an iOS (iPad) app package exists I could equip my sales staff with.
The product I envision would be able to show our avails to a sales rep in the field and allow them to create an order, verify with the client, and allow for a signature of the contract digitally - then forward the order back to the office.
Perhaps I've created in my mind something that doesn't exist yet, but I think it would be a handy solution and cut down on the paperwork - is anything remotely like this available? Or other iOS tools that would be useful?
I use a couple of different apps to get this process to work. On my iPad I have Dropbox, Docs to go, Sign and Send and i use iBooks.
Now dropbox we use as a group to pass all of our documents around to each other. Things like copy, traffic and contracts. Each person involved in this process has their own folder and everything from the start of the sale to the spot being produced stays in dropbox, just moving from one folder to the next.
I use Docs To Go to create traffic orders on my iPad when I am not at the office and want to get it in quickly to meet a deadline. I can create a order off the template, save it and then upload to Dropbox. I also use this to create contracts off the templates as well.
With Sign and Send I have contracts loaded and they can be signed right on the iPad.
iBooks keeps all of sales sheets and rate cards in one place.
Think that's all if you want to know more send me a message
Not sure what traffic software you use but if you are in the market to change, or already use Wide Orbit I read last year that by about this time they expected to camp their software online so that users are able to do what you are talking about. When that is the case it would be possible to check avails as well as enter, and/or edit orders in real time. Wide Orbit does not apparently have an App at this point, but trends point to the eventual death of the app, an interface that will be replaced by an ever increasing proliferation of Mobile sites.
