Memorial Day is always special for us. My husband, who I adore, served a tour in Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star. I am so very proud of his service, as well as all of the men and women who have served or are serving.

Today's radio sales reps have an arsenal of tools available to them today than just the RAB. I feel the RAB has been second to none when it comes to giving the selling side of the industry valuable insight and credibility. Today with the Web…

First of all product knowledge is more important than ever. You also need to be able to be more than an order taker. In our community we have seen long time clients drop out or cut back because of the economy. They need your input more than ever to…

I started as an AE in radio in 1971. As in every other business, much has changed since then. What Rebecca says is certainly correct. Plus there simply are fewer businesses to call on then in years past. Retail advertising no longer drives our…

Valeria Bongard posted this on the RSC Facebook fan page: At least for us, it is different in that our clients no longer buy what we call fluff ads. Ads such as easter scriptures, veterans day, graduation, etc. And also we now have to hit up any…

I have been involved in several discussions about if selling radio has changed and how.  What have you experienced?  How have you changed your sales?

Cause marketing is always a plus when working with anything health care related. Obviously one campaign cannot focus on all of the areas of expertise in their practice, so when you find the one that makes them the most money that most closely…

Julie, I was vacationing last year in Florida and clipped a print ad that would be great for a plastic surgeon client. The ad is a picture of a woman and the headline says “He was only my husband for awhile, but he’ll be my dentist…

Eye and ENT Specialists

I have a client that does everything related to eyes, ears, noses and throats. Think all the doctor aspects plus glasses and hearing aids. Recently, they added plastic surgery and all kinds of skin care and procedures (botox and such). I am looking for great ideas to help them grow their business.

I use this one for a towing company that also has an auto repair business. Dobbin's the name to know when your car won't go or you need a tow!

We developed an online contract writer for our stations in Arizona. We had trouble with contracts that couldn't be read or had math error and scheduling errors. It is called www.SmartRateGold.com It is free to anyone. It is feature rich and I think you will like it. Can you look and give me your comments?

Thanks so much for your telemarketing comment, Julie. That's an excellent point about future relations with the client. My telemarketer calls all accounts....all current advertisers and hopefully future advertisers. However, I absolutely am going out into the community to find people who have a passion for their cause and talk with them about doing telemarketing campaigns. I will be very careful about who I chose to do this. Thanks!
