Kickstarter is a great site. We are going to pour over this thing and see where it takes us. It's a great idea. I appreciate the advice. Vader Later Skip

Since you're doing a project related to the arts you might be able to get funded via this site. http://www.kickstarter.com/ You could obviously offer benefactors a finished CD. Beyond that? Sitting in at the recording session? May the Dark…

Dave... Thanks for the response. That is the kind of hard data we need to complete our Business Plan. Also good for setting Goals.

Skip, My firm spent 10 years syndicating and selling Imagination Theater, which is currently heard on 100+ stations every week. This included power houses like WCCO, KFMB, KIRO, KEX, KFAB, KSL, etc. The unfortunate reality is that syndication…

Good suggestions. I have VP friend at Salem, but getting his attention lately have been difficult. NEA and NPR are possibilities. Would like to see how the commercial opportunities playout first. But excellant suggestions...never thought about…

Hi Skip, Have you talked to the major radio networks? Premiere, Dial Global (formerly Jones), Talk Radio Network, Salem, etc. They have both client stations and advertisers; could get you where you want to go quickly. National advertisers want:…

Concerning National Advertising Clients...

My company is working to bring back Radio Theater. We have a Cast, contracts being signed by the Doyle Estate to produce Sherlock Holmes (our Pilot). We have ten other classic titles being produced. This will mean a rather aggressive syndication of radio stations across the country, and an advertising inventory dedicated to national advertising clients. I had a recommendation to contact a well known national rep firm and have followed up on that recommendation (with no success to-date). Many of…See More

I would have agreed with your friend at one time, but now I am re-thinking the role of Radio Personality. If I were behind the mic at a local station now, I might embrace that sales role. It would certainly force me to meet the public, something…

Hello Skip!

For the online sales training materials, I'd suggest browsing the Sales & Marketing Resources section of the discussion forum. If you like what you see there, I'd also encourage you to become a fan of RSC on Facebook and/or follow us on Twitter (links to the right of the page), since I regularly post links to sales articles and resources that I've found helpful. This link will take you to a list of free sales & marketing white papers and ebooks: list of white papers and e-books and this one will take you to a list of free sales newsletters and blogs: list of newsletters & blogs.

As far as chatting with people with national sales experience, well, I know one member very well, and that is my dad, Rod Schwartz. :-) Other RSC members you might like to contact are Chris Rolando, Chris Lytle, Jay Mitchell, and Doc Holliday (I'm sure I'm inadvertently overlooking other members, but these are the names that come to mind). You can click on the "Members" tab at the top and use the search function to find their personal pages and send them messages.

Finally, if there's a particular issue for which you're looking for input, it'd be great if you put up a post in The Round Table: Brainstorming & Problem-solving section of the forum. That way, everyone on RSC could benefit from the discussion.

Hope this helps, but if you have further questions, please let me know.

~ Rebecca

Good morning, Skip! Didn't see your instant message in the chat section until you'd already logged off, so I thought I'd leave a message for you on your wall. Thank you for joining RSC, and welcome! How did you learn about this site? Hope to see you here often. ~ Rebecca
