Myth or Legend?

  • My mate Shaun Fay is my resident copywriter  and advisor on all things copy.

We call our friends down here in Aussie and New Zealand mates... good on ya mate....

Shaun is a big believer like me that copy should be written by copywriters and sales should be made by salespeople. Logical down under but in the US you do both.

He writes for me on my site www.talkingmediasales.com and here  is an old article about myths and legends.

Please share you if you have any of your own.

    Hope you enjoy.

Our industry has more stories than a library.

    But are they all true?

A large ad agency was once preparing for a major presentation to a new, natural juice company.

It had been a challenging 3 weeks and everyone was very stressed- especially the creative people who perhaps felt they hadn’t quite cracked it.

The presentation was set for 2 p.m. that afternoon and in the morning the executive team were exerting a great deal of pressure on the support staff to finish the documents.

Frustrated, annoyed and hungry because of a missed lunch- one of the PA’s yelled out. “I don’t know what all the fuss is about. It’s Just Juice!”

The meeting was cancelled for the afternoon- the creative was totally re done and now Just Juice is one of the largest brands of juice in the Southern Hemisphere.
