    Diane Scarpelli All 60's makes the stop set sound reeaally long. A 30 can be as engaging as a 60 - particularly true with the Baby Bell Cheese and Motel 6 60s in this stop set. And the pacing of a stop set with 60-30-30-30-15 is better and much easier to listen thru.

    Rod Schwartz Diane - I don't disagree that if one can tell the story well in 30 seconds, it's silly to try to stretch it into a minute. (And if you were inclined to re-edit the two spots you mention into 30's, I'd love to hear the result.) One assumes that the people creating those commercials went with the 60-second length because they believed the story required the full minute. I can think of plenty of 60-second spots that don't *feel* like 60's because of the way they capture and hold our attention.

    But my point in putting together the break is to illustrate that engaging, entertaining commercials don't invite tune-out in the way non-engaging commercials do. It's more a function of the writing and production than the length.
