GUARANTY BROADCASTING/BATON ROUGE VP/Market Manager GORDY RUSH, who lived through Hurricanes KATRINA and GUSTAV, has sent a letter to Sen. MARY LANDRIEU (D-LA) pushing for FM inclusion in mobile phones.

NAB EVP/Communications DENNIS WHARTON told ALL ACCESS, "His personal testimony, along with quotes from various emergency personnel on the ground during these horrific events, helps create a clear distinction between the capabilities of a mobile phone network, that can be unreliable during times of crisis, and the broadcast radio industry, that is available to help serve its local communities when disaster strikes and the cell towers go down. In the letter, Mr. RUSH flatly disputes the claims of a CTIA representative that cellphone service worked fine during Hurricane KATRINA."

    Mike,

Just noticed this in the RSC news feed.  Are your stations running any of these spots promoting FM chips in smartphones?

They're all good.  Would love to hear every station in the country airing them.  Thanks for sharing news about Mr. Rush's letter.
