Our station hasn't done this one but we're going to give it a try. A friend at an out of state station did this one and I LOVED the idea. If you can get multiples of the same gift/prize from different sponsors it is easiest. My friend did "12 Guitars of Christmas" you could do 12 TV's, 12 Waffle Irons, etc. you get the idea. It does have to be a fairly decent kind of prize. Every sponsor (whether they supplied one of the prizes or not - you don't have to limit sponsors to only those who contributed a gift but those who do get a little more or pay a little less than other sponsors) gets a registration box and you run promos to drive people into those locations to register. Some reps I work with are always afraid to set up registration boxes in sponsor locations for fear no one will show up ..believe me, if the prize is nice enough, they come in to register! Your clients location will probably be decorated for the holidays, they'll have lots on sale so they'll be thrilled to get people in their doors. Then whenever you decide to start the 12 days, one sponsor per day calls in to an on-air (if you still have those!) dj to announce the winner. The excitement builds each day there is one less prize. You would probably have to tweak this to suit your market, but you get the idea.
