RSC Members,
Please join me in our Three Part Series: Building Dealer Groups.
There are three weeks left before you are face-to-face with the all important Spring/Summer Selling Season. If you follow this three week crash course in Building Dealer Groups, I promise that you will bill more than you ever have in your career in 2013. Dealer Group Marketing generates local direct orders that can be 5x, 10x, even 20x larger than your average sale. Building Dealer Groups is a fun, yet challenging sales strategy that doubled my billings and it will do the same for you.
The starting point is to identify national companies that have a local presence in your signal area. Pick an industry you have a passion for like Photography, Cooking or Decorating. I've always enjoyed painting so I targeted Benjamin Moore Paint, ServiStar Paint, MinWax, Sherwin Williams, Pratt & Lambert, etc. Research these companies on the internet and then map out the retailers in your signal area that carry these brands. When you have a clear picture of the products local distribution points, you are ready to make contact with the National Brand. That's right ... your most lucrative contact on a local level is with the Manufacturer Regional Sales Manager.
Regional Sales Managers are basicaly AE's ... They are average American's just like you. They dress like you, make the same amount of money you do, they live in your same Region of the country ... In fact, you will have many things in common with them. There is no need to be intimidated in any way contacting these Manufacturer Reps. They are going to lead you to a very very big pot of gold to start your Spring Selling Season ... Next week, I'll tell you what to say to them, how to Organize A Network and Start Building Your First of Many Dealer Groups.
