    Happy Friday, everyone!

Recently I came across an article by Geoffrey James, author of the award-winning business blog Sales Source on Inc.com.  In this particular post, Top 10 Motivational Books of All Time, James lists his top nine picks for motivational books that he believes should be included in all business libraries -- then he asked his readers to submit their pick for the tenth title on his list.

I thought this would make for an interesting poll question, so here goes:

What is your favorite motivational book?  Why do you recommend it?

Looking forward to reading your replies!

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.  It's all about life.  Being scared, getting a "gift," making the best of what you have, perserverence, learning, family, influencers.  My all time favorite.

Little Red Book of Selling by Jeffery Gitomer.  It's honest, real and makes me look within, first!

My favorite is one already mentioned; Og Mandino's "Greatest Salesman in the World".  It is a short read but very thought provoking.  Mandino has a whole series of "Greatest....." books and I love them all.  In fact, when I got married I gave each of my groomsmen a set of Mandino's books.

However, I am also a great fan of Roy William's "Wizard of Ads".  Each of his short essays contains real nuggets of valuable and inspirational wisdom. Geoffrey James list contains great books and all are worth picking up.

A Whack on the Side of the Head by Roger von Oech. You can read it in easy to digest chunks, and it always gets me thinking in a new direction. It's especially good when you're stuck for a solution, and need a whack on the side of the head.

You Can Negotiate Anything by Herb Cohen. Quite simply the one book that showed me that it was OK to sell.

    Hi everyone

My one time favorite book is "Man's Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling his experiences as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate during World War II.

It might appear a heavy read, but it is not, my  one message from the book is its exploration of "Meaningful work"  it asks the question unless you have some sort of purpose to what you do, then life becomes hard.

Great forum question Radio sales cafe team....

The Bible.  Great motivation to live a good life as the alternative is not very attractive.

My favorite book for both motivational and selling advice is the 1948 classic, "How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Sales", by Frank Boettger.  It's as relevant today as it was in 1948 ... and it will still be relevant in 2148!
