Greetings Matt and welcome to your LAST career! This is a great business and this is a great time to start, when things are bad. Now as to your attorney friends....
Step 1) Learn the langauge of attorneys. Check the yellow page ads that particular attorny uses. Yellow page reps tend to be lazy and will put in whatever someone wants to get the ad sold, no matter if they think it will work. The language you see will probably be the language of that attorney.
Step 2) Find someone who is associated with that attorney. Maybe at a Rotary Club, a country club or some civic organization. Find the details about that attorney... hobbies, motivations etc.
Step 3) Write some KILLER ads. Spend the time to really get inside of this client. Find word tracks by going on the Internet and searching out firms of their stature... or larger. Have these ads produced and make sure they are the VERY best they can be. I would produce five of them.
Step 4) Call the attorney's office at 5:15 on the following Monday afternoon. When you get the voice mail (better if you can leave it at his extension if they have that kind of phone tree), after the beep, leave the ad. Nothing else. Don't announce yourself... don't say anything after the ad. Just leave it.
Step 5) Do the same with the next ad on Tuesday, the next on Wednesday and so on. Make sure no two ads sound the same, especially in the beginning. After Friday's ad, leave your message:
Hi this is Matt from the Radio stations... I'd like to know if I am on the right track. I'll be calling you Monday at 9:15 and hope you can take two minutes to take my call. You've seen what I can do in just 30 seconds. Thank you and talk to you Monday!

Matt,
Not to take someones idea but it was on here that an idea came over about letting the attorney do his own ad saying how he tried things in the past and never any good at it but now he is an Attorney and this is what he does best helping people, not sure how they put it ,maybe the person will come back and re-write just how it was said ,but like a testimony. It was a great idea. And it helped me to look at it in another way.
Now to get in to see them is tough, make sure you have everything on hand to sell cause you will not get in twice, or that has been me.And like i said i have had some sign, but i also had bad NO`s . So beware. Good luck!

Matt,
I know this is really not the forum for selling things but we syndicate a 3 minute daily legal program called Point Of Law that is designed for law firm sponsorship. It has been on the air for 50+ years and the stations that run the show have all been running it for 10+ years. It is a perfect vehicle for lawyers and attracts a huge loyal following. You can check out the demo at
www.transmediasf.com/synd.html. Call me with questions.
