I have a new business in our downtown area called "Chicken Coop". Great name. It's a walk-in (a little seating) chicken...fried, grilled and burgers. Simple....home fries, slaw and a roll all served in a "to-go" box. I don't want to get too cutesey with his message. He will be spending enough monthly in frequency to make it work....but do you have any ideas for the message.....or is this a "no brainer" with a chicken clucking in the beginning, fun music background and good solid content. Thanks, Kathie

Lots of ways to tackle this, of course, but I like the idea of approaching it from a chicken-lover's perspective. Their ideal customer is someone who loves chicken, prepared all kinds of ways, and can't get enough of it. (Brings to mind Bubba from "Forrest Gump" - talking about all the ways to prepare shrimp.) Anyhow, wouldn't a chicken lover love Chicken Coop, because of all the ways they prepare it? And wouldn't he/she naturally be inclined to recommend CC to other chicken lovers?

Is this a franchise/chain, or an independent? If the latter, you have a golden fried opportunity to create a powerful, memorable tagline or slogan to tie together all the ads.

Look forward to hearing what you come up with, Kathie!

Hey there Kathie, I had a similar type client, 3 Pigs BBQ, so we took a spin off with "The big bad wolf" voicing the ad with the concept of if you can't beat them join them for delicious food. the pigs were eating great and all he was ever doing was huffing and puffin. However, maybe you take the angle of the "Foxs/Wolves/Dogs" whatever creature who's always trying to get into the chicken coop. Why are they always trying to get in...delicious food, comfort food, etc. We youtube some examples of the "nursery rhyme" story and came up with a great clip from the 50's cartoon, used the music in the background and had fun with the wolf. Just a thought good luck

Love the ideas below. We ran a big on air competition recently called "Chicken" The mechanic was simple, build up awareness, then for the week/month of the competition, take a lucky caller to air and they listen to a slow voice announcing ever increasing amounts of money, or a prize pack, and the caller has to hold their nerve to hang on for the biggest prize they can before the chicken clucks and the prize is lost. Had a great reponse at the time, but obviously is dependent upon sponsor and station budget.
Good luck with whatever you settle on.

    Hey Kathie.

What a great opportunity for to have some fun, huh? I like Vicki's idea. If the owner (or gm/manager) is up for it. The first thing that popped into my head was a "Fox" news report from outside "Chicken Coop". Perhaps the "Fox" reporter could do stories on menu items, daily specials or interview satisfied customers etc. while constantly fighting his hunger and primal cravings for chicken...maybe a little too ambitious for a :30 or even a :60 but it's just a thought. Good luck.

    Hi Kathie,

Try pitching them this. Write some cute copy and find a unique voice in your market or at the station.
