    Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you have a social media you would care to share.  A template would be great.  It's always nice when you don't have to regenerate the wheel.

At our stations we utilize Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  I'm thinking about implementing a social media plan.  Right now our Facebook is strictly to promote our On-Air shows and giveaways.  I want to start to implement more content.  For example, I'm thinking Monday's:  Motivational Monday's....post a picture with inspirational quote.  Wednesday's:  News worthy Current hot topic in the community/state/national.  And Friday:  Weekend fun.

    Just wondering what other's do.

I look forward to hearing responses back.

    Thanks,

    Melissa Strutz

I would follow some stations that are similar in the large markets and see what they are doing. Typically they have the budget for a entire social media department.

Just remeber on social media don't promote yourself, it won't get you very far. It is ALL about providing value to the user.

Here is a great resource for ideas http://mashable.com/

One of the best posts you can do is ask a question and keep it yes or no questions. I manage a western bars social media page and simply asking "Jim or Jack" and putting a picture of a Jack Daniels and a Jim Beam bottle got me 38 comments and 2500 people engaged with it. Also great pictures go a long ways as well, you can steal some from the social media page of the bar's page I mange https://www.facebook.com/FlyingXSaloon

Last thing keep your posts short. I have numbers that a post that is 1 line long will perform twice as well as a post that is 2 lines long.

See what kind of comments you get with the attached image.

    Hope that helps.
