Happy Friday, everyone!
What do you get when two radio sales veterans who are movie buffs start talking? The idea for this week's poll question.
My dad, Rod, was on the phone with Daryl McIntire, sales manager of a radio station in Indianapolis, when the conversation turned to movies, and the two began comparing notes on movie quotes that could apply to the world of sales. For example, Yoda's bit of wisdom, "There is no try. Only do." And that famous line from The Godfather: "It's not personal. It's business."
So . . . what's your favorite movie quote that is applicable to sales?
Hope you have fun with this . . . looking forward to reading the replies and seeing how many movie lines I'm familiar with!
"Coffee is for closers." Glengarry Glen Ross.
"Go ahead....make my day."
Too many quotes, many from Monty Python - ahem. "I'm not dead yet".
"A, Always
B, Be
C, Closing
Always Be Closing!"
Glen Garry Glen Ross
From Gone With the Wind: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."... i.e., there are many firsts and
this was the first swear word the Board of Review allowed to remain in a U.S. Film for Public Viewing!
Love the quote from the movie Cool Hand Luke: "what we have here is a failure to communicate."
Relates to sales discussions, no?
Ha! Absolutely! :-)
I love the line from Billy Crystal in City Slickers..."I sell air".
"A man's got to know his limitations." -- Dirty Harry Callahan
To paraphrase the line from Stripes: "We're a lean, mean selling machine!"
This is a clip from The Big Kahuna (not family safe) and totally accurate.
