Consider a nostalgic Christmas promotion, complete with carolers. Make it an old fashion Christmas, package radio spots with web signage and a promotional schedule that drives listeners to the web site. Do remote broadcasts at various participating downtown businesses, Use the song Silver Bells as the theme, you know "City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks." Station personnel caroling and serving hot cider or cocoa. Maybe tie the broadcast events to a local charity or soup kitchen. Use the new "Christmas Carol" movie with Jim Carrey to tie to a movie event. Consider doing some promotion of local church events cantatas and Christmas plays. Local businesses will sponsor interviews with local stars of these types of events. Ask local clergy to read the Christmas story on the air or local business people to read excerpts from their favorite Christmas story. Give in kind gifts, offer your regular advertisers the opportunity to give some air time to their favority charities. for example if a business spends $1000 for the holiday give 100 psa to their favorite charity for the new year. This kind of good will can not be bought and will help you sell your clients in the future.

We are doing remote broadcasts for the downtown Christmas celebrations in our area. We get some of the local businesses to sponsor it and then broadcast from their shop for 1 hour.

Tiffany: Would you mind sharing your Downtown Lima Promotion with a small market in N.C.? Would love to see it as we have 3 "small" towns within our county and each is a picture perfect place for a charming promotion during the holidays.
Thanks.
