Jack Trout and Al Ries wrote famously on the superiority of ear-oriented media in their article"The Eye Vs. the Ear."

Roy H. Williams, the Wizard of Ads®, built a successful marketing company (and later a business school, Wizard Academy) on the foundation of principles gleaned from their research and his own. One of the results of his unabashed enthusiasm for the power of radio advertising was a cover story in RadioINK Magazine, in which he was hailed as Radio's "Knight in Shining Armor."

Paul Harvey, widely regarded as radio's greatest pitchman, was so impressed by that article that he devoted a segment of his show one day to share it with his listeners. It was a proud moment for Roy personally and for radio generally, when Paul Harvey took a minute and twelve seconds to talk about the superiority of ear-oriented advertising.

    We think it's worth sharing.
