    Happy Friday, everyone!

Here is this week’s poll question:

Where do you usually meet with your clients?  Their office or place of business? A restaurant or coffee shop?  How often do you meet them at your station? Where is the most unusual place you’ve made a sales presentation?

Please welcome our newest members! Joining RSC this past week:

    • Carrie Schimweg of Poplar Bluff, MO
    • Kim Churack of Brainerd, MN
    • Wilson Muthaba of Nairobi, Kenya
    • Kristy Beebe of Toledo, OH
    • Steve Clendenin of Stewartstown, PA

Unfortunately, because RSC was down for much of last Friday – thank you for your patience! – we did not get a lot of feedback on last week’s poll question, which was on the topic of radio stations’ relationships with advertising agencies.  Here’s the link, and we’d welcome you weighing in with your thoughts:  Friday Poll: Do You Extend Preferential Treatment to Ad Agencies?  Since there have been several discussions on RSC over the years about working with agencies, we decided to make a new section of the forum devoted just to this topic; you can check it out here.

Damon Collins of Livingston, PA, writes, “We are looking at doing some on line auction sales (certificates, etc.), and general sale items.  Can anyone point us in the direction of a program (software) that will integrate easily with our web site program? Nothing fancy (like using SQL, or needing a degree in computer science) – and something that is affordable. The ideal program would allow us to fill in the fields and upload as a page (link) for our website. Thanks.” To reply to Damon’s post, please click here.

Rick L. Murphy of Lake Havasu City, AZ, discusses the do’s and don’ts of Proper Gifting, both personal and professional.  One of his tips:  “When it comes to business associates, I like to gift at least 21 days in advance of the ask. Or 21 days after the sale.  They know what you are doing but it makes it less uncomfortable and they don’t feel like they have been manipulated.”  Click here to read the rest of the post. Thank you, Rick!
