Tell them "The Business of the Week" is exclusive to your current sponsor and you'll keep them in-mind if the current sponsor decides not to renew. Do you have a "Birthday Club"? If not, ask listeners to sign-up for the "Birthday Club", at the end of the week draw a name to win donuts from the new donut shop.
This might be far fetched, but I could see it doing really well on a station that is looking for that feel good, family friendly vibe... Perhaps you could do a law enforcement salute sponsorship. When I think donuts... I think police officers. I'm sure I'm not the only one... it might be a fun way to thank your local law enforcement. Maybe they could deliver donuts to officers, firefighters, military, etc. each week... push that "feel good" on to social media... as well. Who knows?! Best of luck!
Love that, Amanda - what a great idea!!!
Bill, I like the "Birthday Club" idea, too - winning donuts is always a great prize!!!!
"Your first donut is free" for cops is a brilliant idea! It's not a stretch to imagine that those taking advantage of the shop's generous offer would want to reciprocate by making a purchase, greatly reducing the hard cost of the promotion to the proprietor. But what a great PR and conversation engine! Love the Birthday Club idea, as well - maybe combining "a free donut on your birthday" with the drawing Bill suggests at the end of every week. The great thing about birthday promotions is that every day is someone's birthday. (Take your town's population and divide by 365; that's how many birthdays there are each day, on average.) And everyone appreciates being recognized.
