    Dave Birnie, owner of KCNI in Broken Bow, NE, says, “We did well again with the Shop Your Hometown Merchants series. Our approach was to tell businesses that if they would invest in a ‘Love Shopping Local’ schedule (we picked that theme to tie in to Valentine’s Day), we would purchase a $25 gift certificate that we would then give away on the air. They appreciated us spending some money with them, since they were spending money with us. It was a win-win.”
