    Hi Radio Guys and Gals

We are thinking about purchasing a Cash Cube to use this spring and summer. Might even use it into late fall of 2010. We rented one of the units for our annual Farm and Home Show held earlier this month. The response was very impressive. We held 4 drawings. Each winner grabbed as much cash as they could in 30secs. They had fun and a crowd gathered each time we had someone inside the cube to grab the money. We thought this would be a good tool to sell annual contracts and place it in businesses to create traffic and excitment the rest of this year. However, we are brain dead as how to create package that will be simple and effective. Have any of you out there used this promotional too. If so how did you do it? Did it Work? are We crazy??

    Thanks

We had a "money machine" when I was in Jacksonville. We used to build the "cash" into the remote fee and we'd upsell clients to have it at remotes. We did okay with it, but Id think it would be better served as a sponsorsble opportunity to cover your cost. Sell an annual sponsorship to a credit union and allow them to be a part of everyone of your Upsold remotes. These machines create quite a draw and could be very valuable to a bank or a credit union.

From someone who had one.. things to think about:
    1) If you have it on location and you are only putting someone in it once in a while, people get pissed.
    2) Build into the cost how much you are going to have to put in the thing every time somone gets in there. If it is full of $1 bills, people lose interest.
    3) You will need to craft rules that are fair to all concerned, and be prepared to deal with people who say they did not violate the rules ("I did NOT trap money between me and the glass").
    4) Remember that you have to transport the thing.
    5) You are trusting the people on remote with CASH and a variable prize amount. Paper Work is KING.

IF I were ever to do one again.. I would RENT the thing for a few weeks and then move on. The simple "Prize Wheel" still works well. But that's just me! Now, don't even get me started about our "dunking booth"!!!

    Thanks Chris,

We appreciate you sharing you experience and providing tips about the Cash Cube. From what you have provided and what others have said, this may not be a good fit for a long term promotion.
Some of our staff me included are getting to old for a Dunk Tank!! We will look further.

    Thanks again

    Kathi,

Thanks for you advice. The Cube we were considering is shaped like a Juke Box. There is also one that looks like a Bank Vault. The vault might be just the ticket for you idea.

    Thanks alot
