Easter Promotion Idea Help!

Hello! I am a 23 year old, and I am just getting started in the radio sales industry!  I just graduated from college with a degree in Mass Communications, but there wasn't much emphasis on radio sales, or sales in general.

Anyway, I am trying to come up with some ideas for a Easter Promotion and I was hoping someone could give me some ideas...   Here is what I have in mind for the promotion.  Our radio station plans to broadcast live from a small town in our listening area on the day of their community Easter egg hunt.  I want to get businesses in the area to sponsor the event.  I want to do small broadcasts from all of the businesses who sponsor the broadcast and in order for the businesses to benefit from the sponorship I want to have give-aways at each participating business.  I thought about ideas like having customers draw for chances to win a golden egg containing cash or gift certificate at each business. Another idea I came up with is having customers guess the amount of jelly beans in a jar and whoever gets closest wins a prize, but this seems pretty cliche to me...

Can anyone please help me come up with a creative way to get listeners involved in the promotion and entice businesses to get involved?    Your help is very much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Kendra!

Hi Kendra, theres loads of things you can do. In my experience you need 'levels' of buy in...so if the clients doesnt buy your 'plan A' you have something more 'affordable'. So...have a 'countdown' to the Biggest Easter Egg Hunt. Clients sponsor a day of the countdown. Schedule the spots..say 10/15 seconds at a fixed time each hour...say top of hour. They get 24 messages. Start them a week to ten days out.

Maybe you could do an easter egg drive before easter at a local supermarket with eggs going to your food bank. Sell an all day remote to the supermarket, sell hours of the broadcast to sponsors and set an eggcellent goal to reach for the foodbank.

Maybe try selling a hidden egg. "Somewhere in x town at one of these sponsors is the kxyz golden egg worth a $1,000 shopping spree".

Other than those maybe sell easter messages from a local pastor/priest. 20 seconds of him then a 10 second cleint tag. "the spirit of easter brought to you by..."
    Good luck.

you can also have a few easter eggs in the studio and ask the audience to describe or guess what they look like and who ever gets it right can win a voucher and branded t-shirts, also pick on major client to sponsor this..eg xxxxxxx easter eggs
