None of my own clients are yet generating income from social networking. But someone I did business with many years ago in Boston now owns a chain of appliance stores in the suburban Boston area. He says his advertising is largely anything that doesn't cost money, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist and others, along with some radio and fliers. He claims it works brilliantly. To see what he's doing, you can look at the twit stream for @Kahians. They're also on Facebook at Kahians Inc.
We've incorporated Facebook into some of our packages for added-value.
We announce our live broadcasts on there and send an invitation to the broadcast to all of our Facebook fans. it's helped to increase sales on a package that some businesses might feel is a pretty large investment at one time. Then when they see we're adding in something of that value, they tend to think differently.
We haven't sold anything directly on social networking sites.

My station cluster has Facebook pages for 3 of our 4 stations. On the facebook pages we have a live streaming player, so our fans can lsiten live on facebook. I have two sponsors on the player totaling $3600 for the rest of the year. One sponsor is just sponsoring the facebook pages and the other has it as part of an annual contract. we ask $200 per month per station for the banners on our stream.
