We let the guy doing our fishing reports...and interviews sporadically to promote his charters as well as his bait shop. He got three new clients when they found out from the interview he was open during ice fishing.

YOU WANT TO FEEL YOUNG AGAIN, FREE AGAIN, NO RESPONSIBILITIES! MAYBE A TROPHY WIFE?, MOTORCYCLE TRIP DOWN ROUTE 66?, A NEW CORVETTE?…..OR MAYBE JUST A FANTASTIC WEEKEND DOING THE ONE THING YOU’VE ALWAYS DREAMED ABOUT! CHARTER FISHING! F EEL THE EXHILARATION OF LANDING THAT BIG ONE! THE FREEDOM OF BEING OUT ON THE WATER WITH NO WORRIES, NO CARES! okay...enough....you finish it! :-D

Consider a series of spots offering creative excuses for calling off work so you can go out fishing with your buddies. Invite listeners to send in their best excuses. The entire campaign is built around this long list of excuses (1 or 2 per ad).

    Hi Judy,

My brother is a the owner of the Bites On Charters here in Ketchikan, Alaska and the ONLY advertising he does is with me at KFMJ 99.9 fm. He gives away a 6 pack charter once a year during our Annual On Air Fishing Derby for those who can't get out on the water. We just gave the charter away last week. We have done a couple of different ads for him, but the one that talks about his boat - a 32 ft Silvertone with restroom and flying bridge - is by the far the one that has gotten him the most results. The ad appeals to both men and women because women care about a restroom and guys like to know the exact kind of boat it is. We mention the Bites On Charters and Captain Clay 3 times in the ad and even have a short testimonial from a client. Clay gets about $40,000 a year in bookings with the ad and he only spends about $2,000.00 per year on advertising. It is a light hearted spot that appeals to both sexes and produces great results.

Hope that helps. Have a great weekend!

    Judy -

Many fishing charters go for different species (which appeal to different people) at different times of year. For example, ads for a service on the coast in the Pacific NW could promote catching a hard-fighting, delicious salmon in the summer, fishing deep but calm waters for huge halibut, lingcod or other tasty mysteries from the deep in the spring and in the off-season, enjoying nature's scenic wonders on a whale watching trip.

By prepping a series of ads that promote his business year round you may establish a long term relationship with this fishing charter business. Hope this helps!
