Today as I was packing up my office for the night and I thought about something that was drilled into me from age 6 until I finished school..... "Go do your homework"... "Have you done your homework yet?".... "Are you going to do your homework on the way there again?" ... "Are you just going to try and fake that quiz again?"
So why is it that we as sales people fold our tent at 5PM or so, go home for the night and don't start work until we get to the office the next day? Think about this.... we "work" about eight hours. We need about eight hours to sleep. What are we doing with the other eight?... I mean really?... being honest with the person in the mirror. I for one find myself planted in front of the cooking channel far too much. I have also been known to nap before getting up and going to bed simply because of total lack of stimulation. I will read at home, but am I doing my Home Work? Am I bettering myself getting ready for that next sale? Or am I hoping to fake it the way I did so many tests in High School.
I think I need a sign at home that says "Did you do your homework?", and face it towrad me and not my kids.
But that's just my opinion.
