    Hi,

I am starting a sports radio talk show in my local community.  The show's general theme is in support of a local university with many alumni in the area.  Since I am an on air talent and not a salesman by trade, how do I locate and approach prospective clients?  Other than them paying for the adverstising time and me running commercials for them, is there other things I can do to get them to sign up?  If I sound like I don't know what I am doing, you are correct.  But hey, I am trying to figure this thing out and make it work!! Any help you can provide is apprciated.

If you have the capability, do the show live from their location. This would be good for a sports bar.

Our FM station does a great local high school sports show. If you will go to mooresportsradio.com you can read how it's done. Since your's will be geared toward your local university I would contact, Pizza joints, fast food places....any business that wants to target that age group because they will be large part of your listening audience. Good luck and don't hesitate to email me to ask any questions. [email protected]
