Hello Everyone,
I am looking for direction/ guidance to help get my online radio station off the ground (radio sales side of things).
My husband and I moved to Toronto about 3 years ago..one day we woke up
and decided to start an online radio station. So we basically remortgaged our house- sold our car! borrowed from
family and we have set up a small(but good looking) studio in Toronto and we
just got our license to broadcast online.
I am planning to hire some
sales staff very soon. My husband used to help me alot..he as he still
has his 9-5 jobs and his health doesnt keep well..so he hasnt been able
to help me in the last few months..but we still have all these overheads
and commitments! so no going back! (Plus I'm kinda enjoying it too-radio is so much fun!)
I basically would like direction/ resources /mentoring in regards to sales cycle / invoicing / cold calling /
how spots are sold/media kits Pretty much all the boring side of it! etc..I need to know from a
managment point of view how this aspect of the station works....if anybody can I will greatly greatly appreciate it.
Thanking you in advance!
Vini.

Vini,
How is it going?
Here's a discussion thread that was recently started by another brand-new general sales manager who was looking for some tips; perhaps there will be some information that's useful to you, too:
