Hello everyone & Merry Christmas!
Has anyone attempted to use coop advertising from Proctor & Gamble. The phone number listed on the RAB Coop advertising portal is non-working and when I call corporate headquarters I need a name of a person. The switchboard lady, while very nice, cannot direct my call to say--the marketing department. If anyone has a contact name and phone number for coop from Proctor & Gamble please post or email me at [email protected].
I got a similar situation with Hormel. Anyone that has tried that please let me know.
Best wishes,
Steve
Although it's been years since my days as a co-op director, I've found that the direct approach to major companies will rarely bring the results you want in co-op funding. From your question, I would assume you are trying to work with a grocery store in securing co-op budgets. Co-op funding will most often follow the chain of distribution. In other words, Acme Grocery Store will not be purchasing directly from P & G or Hormel but from a buying group or distribution house. The best way to unlock co-op funding in these cases is to find the company or distribution rep who calls on the store and present a specific program designed to move cases of product.

Have you tried calling RAB directly? They work on a national level with key advertisers; one would think P&G might be on their short list. Perhaps they have or can obtain new coop info. (And It wouldn't hurt to let them know about the bad telephone number in their database...)

Thanks for both excellent replies. I finally did reach a lady at Kraft who was listed as the coop contact there. She told me she hadn't been involved with coop for 20 years. Rick's advice was similar to what the Kraft rep told me which I am pursuing now. The holidays don't make it easy reaching anyone. I will indeed inform RAB of these glitches. Thank you both for your response--I appreciate it very much!
Best wishes,
Steve
