Plumbing!!

Sometimes when we have worked with a client for a while, our creative expertise goes a little stale.  I was wondering if anyone has any new, refreshing creative ideas for a plumbing company?  They are a small town business out of their home, who is well-known in the community.  They also sell faucets and RO systems, and do renovations.

Any creative ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

I have had just such a company (plumber who works from his home) advertising with us since June 2010. I can honestly say that it was difficult to get them to "let go" of their girlfriend (7 different Yellow Books!) however, when we combined radio along WITH their other offerings, he saw revenue increase 240% last year and is planning on doing that again in 2011. We focused on SERVICE FIRST as this plumber offers "evening, weekend and holiday service for no extra charge". His best product offering is an electric water heater, installed for just $599 (includes hauling away old unit and clean up). I just met with him yesterday to present a 1 year schedule using some of the money he will save by "sizing down" or eliminating some of his YP budget and bringing it over to raido to "compliment" his marketing. Your company is already well known so it's not a matter of brand imaging...what do they want to accomplish? how many competitors in the market? Right now is an excellent time to focus on bathroom remodels/renovations...speak to the lady of the house that it's "time to get that bathroom done right"!...

    Jennifer,

I had a client that specializes in Heating, Cooling and Plumbing named "NHCP". I did a household heroes campaign with the following copy set to a "triumphant, hero's entrance" music bed. Hope this helps!

    Jeremy

    First ad:

Let us introduce the newest superhero…your household hero, Clint and the team at NHCP. This team of superheroes combats leaks, drips and more throughout your home…without declaring war on your check book. Count on your household heroes at NHCP. You'll be in like flint when you call Clint at Newell Heating Cooling and Plumbing. Just call 272-4423 and get an appointment with your home's MD. When you have a leak-whether it's heat, water, or air-that needs a little repair, call 272-4423 and count on the household heroes at NHCP.

    Second ad:

Time to check in with our household heroes, Clint and the team at NHCP. Armed with the best of products from companies like Ruud, Clint and his team are out to eliminate furnace deficiency and looking to keep you warm and carefree this winter…without declaring war on your checkbook. Count on your household heroes at NHCP and the full line of Ruud products.  Just call 272-4423 and get an appointment with your home's MD. When you have a leak-whether it's heat, water, or air-that needs a little repair, call 272-4423 and count on the household heroes at NHCP.

If they make the committment to do this, it would be a great way to promote their plumbing company.  In our market, a plumbing company promised their plumbers would smell good and show up on time.  They prided themselves on not leaving a mess.  Extra "jump suits" and cologne were in each truck.  He even purchased a jingle.  It worked well for him.  He had researched and discovered the biggest complaints his customers (usually women) had were that plumbers stank, were always lated and left a mess.  He eventually retired and sold his company to a larger regional company.

    I hope this helps.

I recently ran a spot I wrote for a plumber. I stressed the fact that most people do not need a plumber right now, but when they do, they should remember the name. Most people do not buy what they need, they buy what they want. PLumbers and dentists are among the few "need" businesses. That makes they an entirely different sell.

may be drop lines for 100 uses of water. Sponsored by the company, also the listener can send in question related to water and plumbing and an expert from the company can answer in a few sends.
