This Week's Sales TipPerhap's the most asked question of all time is, "What's For Dinner?" ... Let's turn this one into a money maker.

The US Census Bureau reports that there are over 1.2 million restaurants in the USA ... That's a lot of prospects. Let's sell four or five of them this week by simply asking, "What's For Dinner?" Find a fixed position in afternoon drive and have your new clients call in with Tonight's Blackboard Special. Give each restaurant :15 seconds to read tonight's dinner special and to offer an invite to your audience. Five restautants with a quick open and close from your afternoon drive-time personilty and you'll have a timely :90 report of where to go to dinner tonight.

Owners of local restaurants will love this idea if your program is reasonably priced. Insist that the owner of the restaurant make the call and have them offer the invitation personally. This program is very marketable and the clients will get great results!

Super promotion, Jim!   Well-timed, affordable, right on the money...

I'd be tempted to establish a "limit of 5 (or whatever) participants" policy from the outset to build some exclusivity into the equation.  Sometimes these arrangements that are built on the cooperative efforts of multiple sponsors have a tendency to collapse when one or two decide to back out after a few weeks.  Limiting participation gives both the station and sponsors incentive to treat it more seriously.

    Thanks for sharing the idea!

Love this concept. Our station did something similar for car dealers called "What's Hot on the Lot". We took a 60 and had a intro, three 15-second sponsors promoting various deals and an Extro. We linked it all back through our website to the sponsors websites. It worked really well for us!
