    Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had any new revenue generating Christmas Promotions beyond greetings, drinking and driving etc.

We did 12 days of Christmas one year. It was a lot of fun...We got 12 sponsors. Each had to provide $100 in prizes. For the sponsor that sponsors 12 days worth.. they provided a prize valued at like 8.50... then 11 days was 100 divided 11 and so-forth. All the way down to 1 day was something valued at $100 dollars. Here is how it worked. Beginning about 15 days before Christmas (we left a couple days between our last day and Christmas so listeners had time to come claiim thier prizes before Christmas) We would tell the listeners what that days "prize" was. So on the first day they would call and have to say.. on the first day of Christmas Fox Country gave to me..and then whatever that days prize was ( For example...a candle from ABC Hallmark).. then they won the candle. On the second day... It would be... on the 2nd day of Christmas Fox Country gave to me... and then they had to list the day befores prize.. and that days prize and they won both prizes. So by the 12th day.. they were listing EVERYTHING and winning 12 different prizes. It is super fun for this listeners... We priced it at different levels so the business sponsoring 12 days paid more because they were getting more coverage and the business sponsoring the final day paid a lot less. They came with some regular 30 second commercials to use at thier discretion.

We also every year do a "Stuff the Bus" promotion. We team with our local bus depot, who provides the bus free of charge. Then we team with a local organization that operates a free toy store for needy kids. We then sell remotes to businesses and encourage listeners to drop off donations and help "Stuff the Bus" with new toys. The bus is present at all the remotes. All the donations go to the free toy store. Its a win win for everyone and one of our most successful holiday promotions.

    Hope these help!good Luck!

    Hey Tom,

i worked for CBS radio in Vegas for a long time.  They had the most successful holiday event I have ever seen.  It was a great revenue maker and delivered big to the community.  It's a Toy Drive.

The Station is KLUC in Vegas.  The man behind the promotion is Cat Thomas.  If I were you I would give him a call and see if you could pick his brain about doing this in your market.  I am sure there is ample Youtube Video so that you can see the scope of this thing.

It's a lot af work but well worth the pay off.  CBS Radio's number is 702-889-7500.

    Hi Tom,

We are a little different because we do some pretty amazing promotional events, but the program is called "Season of Giving" and you tie in with a bunch of non-profits: food banks, Salvation Army, Goodwill, hospitals, etc. and give your listeners a "one stop shop" for ALL their Holiday giving...

Also, a fun one I have seen, as shopping centers are naturally HUGE spenders around the holidays: "Best Parking space sweepstakes". The mall pays for the program and has a promotion where people enter to win the best spot plus gift cards, etc. There's lots of ways to do this. Have fun with it!

OMG!!!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS IDEA and I could see how we could incorporate local business owners with our favorite items from their stores!  Love this idea!  Thank you!  This doesn't have to be just for Christmas either which is the great part!~
