    Hi Tami,

This site is definitely the place for promotion ideas!  If you're looking for a promotion for a specific holiday (like Christmas, as you mentioned) or business category, I would definitely recommend searching the forums by key word or words.  (Just click on the "Forum" tab at the top of the page, and then the "Search" link.)

Here's the link to one recent discussion:  Christmas Sales Promotions.

We have one section called "Killer Promotions & Ad Campaigns," where RSC members have posted a ton of great ideas; just click here to check it out.

Another good source of ideas is the Revenue Opportunities section; just click the link above or the tab at the top of the page.

    Hope this info helps!

    Rebecca

Thank you Rebecca.  You have been so helpful!  I may be asking more questions like these as my boss seems to be relying on me more for promotions.  It is something that I am really good at and I love working with people and the public.  It takes a  lot of planning and hard work and creativity to pull off something successful but in the end if we all benefit it is completely worth it.

    Hi Tami

Have you considered a Christmas jingle? I'm attaching Coddingtown Mall and Redwood Credit Union who both wanted holiday tags sung with a holiday feel to their music.

One idea is the 12 Days of Christmas. There are 12 sponsors that put together a major prize package to be given away on one of the 12 days. The beauty is you have 12 winners instead of one.

We do a very successful "Ringing & Bringing" event with the local food pantry and Salvation Army.  We go to a popular store (we use Farm & Fleet here in Wisconsin) and we have 5 sponsors that pay for an advertising package and mentions as a sponsor of the event.  We stay there all day and collect toys, food and cash.  Often we find an organization to match funds up to $xyz during any given hour.  Those have been Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and a local investment guy.  Good Luck!
