I am putting togther a list of ways for my newbies to get their "foot in the door" so to speak with new prospects or my veterens in with some of their tough clients....

Who has any unique ideas to get prospects to return calls?  Agree to a meeting?  Some of the things I have so far are:

    * Sending a cake with " Doing business with me is a peice of cake" written on it

    * Sending a doll with an arm missing " I'd give my right arm for a meeting"

    * Sending a bottle of aspirin with a tag that reads "Sorry to be a pain in the neck"

    Any thoughts?

Chris Lytle used to recommend using a gigantic "While You Were Out" message to be left on the client's desk.  Whatever gambit one uses should be consistent with his personality, or it will come off as affected, forced, or awkward.

One of my favorite approaches -- admittedly less "clever" and more businesslike -- is to create an engaging, compelling presentation (including ideas, demos, research, testimonials, etc.) directed personally to the prospective advertiser and put it all on a private webpage, then email the link or URL to him.

If you're confident that what you have to say has value to the client, don't worry about not being able to respond in real time.  The fact that you've gone to all this trouble to organize and present your case speaks volumes. You show respect for your prospect's privacy and make it easy for him to review your presentation anytime, anywhere, at his convenience.

We've used a short personal video from our morning team. The video explains the advantages of being on the air with us, reputable companies in the community who are current clients, and an invitation on get on board with us.
