If you're looking to email a company before you approach them, is there a certain way you should go about this? I feel like if I'm starting the email with my job title nobody will ready further...Or is the email introduction 100% the wrong way to go? The companies I want to approach I have already qualified and I know they fit the radio stations demographic, so would that be a good starting point?

They don't want to be introduced to you.  Their e-mail boxes are already full of pitches, spam and other begging.  They want someone who can solve a problem.  Start with what you can do for them.  I would also try other methods to warm up the call -- snail mail is always a little better than e-mail I think.  Especially handwritten envelopes.

Thanks Julie, I'll have to give that a try!
