I have been in sales for the last ten years. Not in radio. I'm now looking at possibly getting a career started in New York with a large radio group. I will hopefully being getting invited back for another interview soon. It seems like they take forever, but I have been in contact with them through emails. Any advice anyone would have for me so I can nail the interview and get the job? Thanks everyone!
Watch the Chris Rolando Crawl, Walk, Run videos on YouTube before the interview! You'll be walking in with a LOT more knowledge about what you're getting yourself into. And it'll show.
Excellent tip, Alex! Here's the link to the first video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FokRSF35LrA
Thank you Alex. I will be sure to watch them!
Thanks for your help. I got the interview set for March 4th!
Congratulations, Roy! That's exciting! Let us know how it goes.
Ask about training and ask them to be specific. Many companies say they'll train you but don't.
Ask how long it will take you to REALLY get up and running commission wise.
Ok, I took all you input and advise and, I believe I put it too good use. I think I nailed the interview just by being myself. When I was asked what faults, do I feel I have. I said "I don't remember any, but if you call wife I'm sure she will give you a list. There really is no reason for us both of to remember them!" I did have my interviewer laughing during the interview. So I think I did good. I also asked at the end "How did I do?" She answered "excellent, your on the top of my list right now, but I do have 3 more interviews" I offered to wait downstairs to tell them the job has been filled. I'll take advantage I can...lol
Sounds like it went well, Roy . . . congrats! Keep us posted!
