I am in my first week in sales. Been in programming for 9 years, this is my first sales job and i'm scared as all hell! haha.
Anyway, first thing i'm putting together is a Hometown Salute package. A lot like "Shop Local" but not really. I'm attempting to sale this package to 5 businesses in each town. It's going to be 1 :60 spot TOTAL that will run like Sunday - Thursday, that will look something like this...
OPENER (These proud businesses would like to invite you to visit their town of XYZ. Also know as the nickname city of the world, XYZ is home to the best meat festival..

I was told the best way to go about selling these is by making lots and lots of phone calls to all the businesses in the town. The problem i'm running into is they say yes we are interested...can you come by and talk to us. I'm not an on the road sales person, at least not yet, they hired me to do telemarketing sales. But when these businesses say, "YES COME TALK TO ME and bring some other packages with you," of course i set up an appointment...I have several appointments made monday and tuesday already and it's just going to be my second week on the job. is this a good sign?
Also, when cold calling these people what is the best way to introduce myself and offer the package.
