You don't need the App. Any browser will do, mobile or otherwise. The app simply makes it easier for a mobile radio listener to order without having to type anything.
They simply say "open RingWord" this opens the app. Then they say "flowers" "dental" "mercedes" or whatever the RingWord is. Then they say go, or enter depending on your phone. It looks up the RingWord, displays the page, then highlights the order number so all the driver has to do is say "call." You are then connected to the advertiser that you heard on the radio station you are listening to in your car. You don't have to remember a phone number. Advertisers don't have to repeat phone numbers. Listeners don't end up searching Google and purchasing from someone else.
We are fairly new, so you and your listeners probably haven't heard of us. But, most of your listeners are familiar with a Ring Tone, they will "get" the Ring Word idea pretty quickly.
As for the number of downloads, ours is a very specialized app. It won't do anything other than connect a listener to the advertiser's RingWord. No ads. No sneaky steal your data. It is simply to make it easy to order from the advertiser you just heard on the radio.
The first word is free to any of your advertisers, so there is no cost, nothing to lose. You can still advertise the phone number if it makes everyone feel better. It's a waste of ad time, but you can do both if your client is nervous about it.
Change is difficult and uncomfortable. When people first heard of Google they usually just giggled over the word. Now, SEO is a business in itself to get placed on Google.
