Is anyone aware of a generic Musical Signature/Jingle for "Small Business Saturday"
or "Midnight Madness"?
Not aware of any free ones. We can make one for you, if you can get some kind of budget for it. We could work a buy out if it could be used by other stations or clients.
Just a thought. Check out terrylodercreative.com for music samples.
"Midnight Madness" is trademarked by the NCAA, so I would stay away from that. Even if it is for basketball, you'd still need NCAA permission.
Regarding a jingle, I'm not aware of one for Small Businesses Saturday. It, however, is trademarked by American Express. So you'd need to gain clearance there, as well.
I'd rather you be safe (legally) than sorry.
Hmmm
News to me. Midnight Madness has been in use by others for retail since the 60's. I was radio sales exec in the 70's & 80's and they were common back then.
Don't know how they managed to trademark it after all those years.
I have no plans to create either one.
It was just a response to your inquiry.
Think you're confusing "March Madness" with "Midnight Madness." ;-)
NCAA does indeed have a Midnight Madness as well as March Madness (which they own even though they didn't come up with it.) However I can't believe they would invest in protecting Midnight Madness it from the 2 zillion businesses that have used it so far. But anywhere they can make a buck off the kids, I'm sure the Company will be all over it.
As for Small Business Saturday, I have a 30 second lyric, but no production.
NOTE: You're really looking for a property like this, 5 days before the day? Shouldn't it already be produced with additional VO for the application by this time?
Hope you get it worked out. I don't see how though unless the flight is jam packed saturation stuff starting on Thursday.
All the best.
If you want something hot for next year maybe we can talk. Meanwhile, consider that both properties ought to be used way beyond single weekend application. Unless you have several participants who spend a substantial amount of budget, I think your program will be weaker than Alaskan tea. (No Anchorage. I don't know if Alaska has tea. I just mean weak.)
OUT.
