Hi Kelley - Excellent question! I've been selling jingles through radio station referrals for over 30 years. We've never been busier, my closing ratio has never been better, and there is more need for what we do than ever. Because there is more advertising 'clutter' than ever, radio clients realize if they don't do something to rise above all that, they run a real risk of getting lost in the shuffle.
The hardest part today is getting the attention of the radio sales reps. They are under so much pressure to deliver short-term revenue (make this months' budget) that they often have blinders on about the long-term results for their clients. So that will be your biggest challenge. And without them you are cold-calling and that could be a time-consuming and frustrating exercise.
Please stay in touch and let me know how it goes. If your company produces good work, there will be a market for it, as there are VERY few jingle companies doing high-quality work out there.
Good luck!
