with a national company that produces quality advertising productions for local and regional advertisers at a price they can afford.  (Syndicated jingles)  I have shared with two people what I may be hired to do and received a very negative response from both stating I should wait for another opportuniity because with the current economic climate it will be nearly impossible to be successful in this field.  Being a positive person and having been rather excited about this opportunity I decided to find people in the industry and ask you how you like making a living this way and if you find that you are successful in spite of the economic downturn.  I have received a very generous starting salary and commision structure.  I was a successful Realtor regardless of economic constraints and lived by giving good phone.  Thank you for your feedback.  Warmly,  Kelley

Hi Kelley - Excellent question!  I've been selling jingles through radio station referrals for over 30 years.  We've never been busier, my closing ratio has never been better, and there is more need for what we do than ever.  Because there is more advertising 'clutter' than ever, radio clients realize if they don't do something to rise above all that, they run a real risk of getting lost in the shuffle.

The hardest part today is getting the attention of the radio sales reps.  They are under so much pressure to deliver short-term revenue (make this months' budget) that they often have blinders on about the long-term results for their clients.  So that will be your biggest challenge.  And without them you are cold-calling and that could be a time-consuming and frustrating exercise.

Please stay in touch and let me know how it goes.  If your company produces good work, there will be a market for it, as there are VERY few jingle companies doing high-quality work out there.

    Good luck!
